May 16th at 6:00 pm SEIU Local 2015 & Diocese of Fresno will host a blessing of our caregivers. Caregivers do the Lord’s work by caring for the elderly and the infirm; allowing society’s most vulnerable to live in their homes with dignity. They follow the lord’s instruction in Psalm 82:3-4,”Give justice to the weak and the featherless, maintain the right of the
afflicted and the destitute.”
Pope Francis himself declared the work of caregivers to be a “precios service” and instructed all of us to “always be more grateful for the help of domestic workers and caregivers.”
Following that guidance, on May 16th at 6:00 pm the Diocese of Fresno will celebrate a Mass to recognize the valuable work that caregivers do. The event will start with an invocation and end with a blessing of the hands of our caregivers, the same hands that provide dignity to thousands across the Central Valley.
